The Loudoun County Board of Supervisors voted to approve the Envision Loudoun Vision and Goals statement at its May 18 business meeting. You can read the updated document here.
An article published May 19 in the Loudoun Times-Mirror on the vote notes that Supervisors opted to remove area-specific language in the vision statement (“rural, suburban, urban, transition area”)–language encouraged by citizens concerned about encroaching development pressure–and substituted more general language in the final statement:
“Loudoun County continues to flourish as a prosperous and inclusive community with a well-deserved reputation for great places, natural and built as well as historic and new, in a variety of settings. The County will foster economic innovation, fiscal strength, and sustainability.”
