In Our Backyard Columns
“In Our Backyard” is a recurring column in Loudoun Now, a nonprofit news organization dedicated to serving Loudoun County, Virginia, with daily online coverage and weekly print editions. The column invites Loudoun residents to share original articles (which may include articles repurposed from a previous publication) in the interest of cultivating a deeper appreciation for the county’s rich heritage and environmental treasures.
More than 60 articles were published in the former Leesburg Today, covering many of our unique heritage sites in Loudoun, out-of-the-way places of interest, details from our Civil War past, interesting archaeological finds, and the diversity of our special birds and trees. What binds them together is that they are all found right here in Loudoun County—In Our Backyard.
We hope you find these articles–written by your neighbors–interesting, educational, and worth a trip to see the places, or experience the events, in our beautiful county.
