Roads, Bridges & Arterial Network
Rural Roads & Bridges
The Rural Roads Committee works with VDOT and County Transportation staff to support proper maintenance and preservation of Loudoun’s historic rural road network.
Rural Arterial Network
This committee is monitoring the issues arising from Loudoun’s arterial roads studies and subsequent road projects, and the county’s emphasis on expanding capacity to facilitate more interstate traffic, induced demand, and sprawl development.

The award-winning Route 50 Traffic Calming Project addressed, safety, flow, and access improvements following multiple local community meetings, an articulated vision, and was federal demonstration project. Loudoun County removed an endorsement of this low-cost, effective road improvements approach in its 2019 Comprehensive Plan update. [Image courtesy Google Maps]
