Loudoun County government has many advisory boards, commissions, and committees which provide opportunities for direct involvement in local government by residents of Loudoun County. The Board of Supervisors recognizes and celebrates the diversity of Loudoun County and encourages all individuals to apply to serve on Board-appointed committees and commissions.
Many advisory boards are comprised of At-Large seats which have no residency requirements, but may require appointees to have specific areas of expertise and/or representation. Other advisory boards are comprised of both At-Large appointees and electoral District representatives (the latter requiring applicants to live in the district for which the advisory position exists).
In general, Loudoun Coalition Member Organizations are under-represented on advisory boards, commissions & committees. Now is the time to “GET ON BOARD.“
Applying for an Advisory Board, Commission or Committee
Applications must be submitted online for formal nomination.
- Review current board, commission and committee vacancies (see chart below).
- Check HERE for more information about each advisory group.
- Fill out the Online Application Form (Hardcopy Word version for draft preparation: Here. Note: Single application can be used to apply for multiple Advisory Groups.)
- Let the BOS know of your interest and application: Send an email to your Supervisor (for District seats) or any Supervisor (for At-Large positions), expressing interest and/or copy of your application.
