At its Thursday, January 18, 2019, meeting, the Loudoun County Board of Supervisors passed the Emerald Ribbons board member initiative 8-0-1 (with Chair Phyllis Randall, sponsor of the proposal, absent due to illness).

The Board has directed the Parks, Recreation, and Open Space Board to conduct the tasks needed to develop a detailed implementation plan for an interconnected, countywide linear park and trail system and to report back their findings and plan of action no later than June 4, 2019.
