Virginia History Symposium
Small groups of students research a topic related to Loudoun County or Virginia state history and present their findings and projects as part of a larger event involving an entire grade level and local historical organizations that highlights local, regional, and state history.

Benefits | Many local historical organizations are invited to attend and share their sites and stories with the general public that attends the symposium and the students who worked on the projects. Historical organizations and communities also benefit from such a program because the student projects often generate interest in their organizations and sites, thus increasing attendance and awareness at local historical sites. |
Resources | The Mosby Heritage Area Association provides an educational session that gives students ideas of what stories to choose for their project, as well as in-classroom project assistance before the symposium. |
Student Roles | Students' projects will aid the mission of the Mosby Heritage Area Association by promoting local history and the historical resources that still exist throughout Loudoun County and Virginia. |
Promotion & Publicization | The Mosby Heritage Area Association will aid in tracking down partners for the event, promoting through the media and on our website, and will help get other local historical organizations to show up and display their sites for the symposium. |
