Lovettsville 101: An introduction to the German Settlement

FreeThe Lovettsville Historical Society will present this special program on Lovettsville’s history, which will feature a 30-minute video made for the “On this Ground” series on Loudoun Cable TV in 2006. It tells the story of “The German Settlement,” now called Lovettsville, from the time before European settlers arrived, up to the present time.
The program, which begins at 2 p.m. Sunday, February 9, at the St. James United Church of Christ, 10 East Broad Way in Lovettsville, is narrated by local historian and educator Richard Gillespie, and features interviews with a number of long-time Lovettsville-area residents. Some of those interviewed for the 2006 program will be present and available to answer questions.
The Lovettsville Museum will be open after the program for a reception and refreshments.
